    Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 63 runs in their Indian Premier League held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.

    It was a comprehensive victory for Chennai as they posted a superb 196 innings for three and then bowled Rajasthan out for 133 runs.

    With this victory, Champions Chennai Super Kings have reached to the second place in the points table with 14 points.  Whereas Rajasthan Royals remain at fifth position with 11 points from as many matches.  However, Top four teams will have to fight for the title in the near future.

    Opting to bat, Super Kings acquired run scores of about 196/3 as it seem to be the significant contributions from the top order.  Elaborating further on, Michael Hussey made 46 runs while Murali Vijay scored a wonderful 53 which laid the foundation with a 77-run in the very opening stand.

    In addition, Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni thrashed 41 not out off in just 19 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes and shared a 44-run stand with partner Suresh Riana – who delivered 43 runs.

    For Rajasthan Royal, none of the batsmen show their skills – even Shane Watson left the stadium after scoring 11 runs.

    For Super Kings, Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay scored at a brisk pace before off-spinner Johan Botha broke the partnership when he bowled the Australian. Though, Hussey’s added a smashing 46runs off 30 balls which includes 8  fours.

    • Results: Pune Warriors beat Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets

    Pune Warriors defeated Kings XI Punjab by five wickets in their Indian Premier League match at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, on sunday.

    Chasing a modest 120 runs target, Pune delivered a superb innings as they reached said target of about 120 runs with a loss of only five wickets in just 17.1 overs. However, Skipper Yuvraj Singh became the top scorer in team pune covering his 35 runs.

    Kings XI Punjab played sensibly well but couldn’t managed to occupy the place for today’s game…as they just scored 119 runs with a loss of eight wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

    In addition, MK Pandey made 28 runs whereas and RV Uthappa secured 22 runs score to help the side reaching the winning score. Though, Marsh remained the highest run scorer of the side acquiring his 32 runs before he got out to P. Kumar.

    For Kings IX Punjab, SJ Srivastava took two-wickets and remained the highest wicket picker throughout the game. Furthermore, KD Karthik scored 30 with his bat to give Kings XI some kind of total to fight in the match.

    With this victory Pune added some momentum to their campaign with their chances of qualifying already in doubt.

    • Match Result – Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kochi Tuskers  Kerala by 6 wickets
    • Royal Challengers Bangalore crushed Kochi Tuskers Kerala by 6 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday.

      Thanks to Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chris Gayle, whose tremendous batting takes Bangalore to chased the victory today. Though, Gayle posted a brilliant 16 ball off 44 which includes five sixes and three fours whereas,  Dilshan delivered 52 off 31 balls for Bangalore to reach to the third spot in the points table with 13 points. Kochi, however, remain still on the sixth spot.

      Opting to bat, Kochi scored a modest 125 for nine in 20 overs, which was successfully chased down by Bangalore losing one wicket and 41 balls to spare.

      Surprisingly, the highlight of the match was the third over of the Bangalore innings bowled by Prasanth Parameswaran that cost Kochi 37 runs which is considered to be the maximum runs conceded in an over in the history of IPL.

      Gayle, however, left the ground as Vinay Kumar stopped him in the fourth over.  In addition, it was Dilshan and Virat Kohli (27 off 33 balls) who batted sensibly and took calculated risks to guide their team home. Finally, the duo were off with an unbeaten stand of 61 runs for the second wicket.

      Initially, openers Michael Klinger scored 24 runs and Brendon McCullum 22 runs help Kochi with a decent start scoring well around eight runs per over.

      For Bangalore, Sreenath Aravind and Vettori picked up two wickets while Zaheer, Gayle and Mithun got one wicket apiece.

    Kolkata Knight Riders chased a 10 runs victory against Chennai Super Kings in a rain interrupted Indian Premier League held at Eden Gardens on Saturday.

    Chasing a modest 115-runs target, Knight Riders were 61/2 in 10 overs when rain stopped the game. However, Jacques Kallis remain unbeaten on 21 from 23 balls and Manoj Tiwary was not out at 21 from 15 balls.

    With this win, Kolkata has reached to second position in the points table while Chennai occupies the third position.

    Chennai Super Kings didn’t played well as they just managed to procure 114/4 runs in their allotted of 20 overs. Though, S Badrinath played the match exceptionally well as he delivered a superb 54 innings for Chennai to reach 114 runs.

    For Kolkata, Iqbal Abdulla, L Balaji and Yusuf Pathan took one wicket each. Kallis remained unbeaten on 21 from 23 balls while Manoj Tiwary was 15 not out from 12 balls.

    Moreover, today’s match was the most important for both the sides. However, Kolkata has played 10 games to Chennai’s nine outings in the IPL 2011.

    Chris Gayle played on an impressive note as he chipped in three wickets for Bangalore and kick-out Kings XI Punjab by 85 runs in their IPL match held at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Friday

    Opting to bat, Gayle delivered a superb 107 innings off 55 balls which include 9 sixes and 10 fours and became the first player to hit two centuries in this IPL match.

    Chasing a stiff target of 206 runs, KXIP didn’t do well, as they managed to score 120 for 9 as none of the team member delivered an accepted score to win the game.

    Though, the notable performer for KXIP was Ryan McLaren who remains the top-scorer in the team member

    For RCB, Sreenath Aravind remains the most promising bowler with 4/14 from his four overs whereas Captain Daniel Vettori

    Rajasthan Royals squads put forth an impressive innings as they defeated Mumbai Indians by seven wickets at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here on Friday and placed their second position in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

    Thanks to Botha, whose remarkable delivery leads the team to chase for today’s victory against the champion’s leader Mumbai Indians. Talking about Botha’s innings, he made a superb score of about 44 runs off 39 balls, including   two fours and a six to set the platform for Rajasthan’s victory.

    Rajasthan Royals played on an impressive note as they managed to display a superb bowling and took the wickets at a regular intervals. However, Rajasthan Royals restricted Mumbai Indian to a small score of 94 for eight. This is Mumbai’s lowest total in the IPL tournament. Which is also happen to be a lowest scores at this stadium.

    For Mumbai Indians, there were four batsmen who managed to reach the double figure. Though, Andrew Symonds being the top-scorer with his 17 followed by Davy Jacobs 15 runs.

    However, Shane Warne and Ashok Menaria were the top players for Rajasthan Royal in today’s victory as they played superbly to restrict Mumbai Indians.
